T4 Concept

Introduction

The Channel 4 T4 site needed a refresh. An injection of blue sky ideas taking advantage of the content and events that come and go between the year.

Stretchy wireframes to full blown design

The ideas behind what the business what to archive with the website and what the correct design and technology can currently produce. All this was going through my mind while I was having these meetings.

The photoshop work

Let’s start taking the wireframes and put it straight into the frying pan – to see what results we get. A bit like making stir fry.

Menu

Restyled menu to provide more room for content and allow to promote events at any level of the site.

Timeline

Taking content before, during and after from all available sources (twitter, flickr, youtube, facebook and t4).

Fresh stuff

Fresh stuff delivers content from all sources related to T4. Using the day filters to separate between new and old content. Each piece of content is tagged and users can also filter by tags. Content is coloured coded. T4 content has 4 levels of popularity.

  • Very high
  • High
  • Medium
  • Low / Non existent

Top4 of Top3

The most popular three tags and most popular content within each.

CCTV

User interactions – like e4 what’s happening. Styled if as somewhere were watching it in a CCTV security room.

Filtering

Each piece of content is tagged and users can also filter by tags.

Sponsorship

Use background to provide further sponsorship push – short term longevity. And positioning for promotioning a brand (via a competition) – short term longevity
